It’s been a couple of months since the Brussels terrorist attack but I wrote this article back in March when the attack occurred.  The wifi connection on our cruise ship was very slow and it would’ve been impossible to post it at that time.  Bernard Goldberg (www.bernardgoldberg.com), however, did post it on his website.  It may be a couple of months old, but I think it’s worth posting here and now:

brussels-terror-attacks-still

I’m on a world cruise right now and we have exited the Strait of Hormuz from the United Arab Emirates, heading south and into the Gulf of Aden, will squeeze through the waterway between Somalia and Yemen and then north to Jordan.  I mention my whereabouts because, right now, I feel safer in the hands of our Captain on the Pacific Princess than I would feel at home in Washington state with the limp-wristed guy (watch the video with Raul Castro in slo mo) in the White House at the helm. Oh, I forgot, he’s busy watching a baseball game with his communist buddy.

We woke up hearing about yet another terrorist attack, this time in Brussels.

What’s it going to take for the world to wake up and do something about these terrorists?

Honest to God, back in 2012 when I heard about the massacre at Benghazi, I immediately said to myself, “we’re going to war – they’ve killed one of our ambassadors.”   Obama did nothing except lie to the American people – oh, and attend a fundraiser in Las Vegas.  Don’t forget that the probable Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State at the time, went along with the lie to try and convince us that a video enraged the terrorists who then, spontaneously, attacked our Embassy.

James Foley, an American, was beheaded by ISIS barbarians and Obama did nothing, except make a perfunctory statement before going back to his golf game.

Charlie Hebdo offices were bombed in Paris by Muslim terrorists and the world did nothing.

A nightclub in Paris was bombed to create terror and the world did nothing.

Americans are killed and injured in San Bernardino and our fearless leader doesn’t bother to make a trip to California (until it was convenient for him on his way to Hawaii) to ease the pain of the families and assure the country that he had the matter under control.  Instead, the world did nothing.

Now, Brussels is under attack and what will the world do this time?  My guess:  The world will do nothing.

Oh, yes, flags will once again be flown at half-mast, buildings will be lit with the colors of this month’s targeted country, flowers and messages will be placed at the sites of the attacks, and John Kerry will probably wheel out the decrepit James Taylor once again to sing to the Belgians, “You’ve Got a Friend.”  Yes.  This is how we fight terrorists who want to destroy each and every one of us.

Investigation is ongoing in Brussels.  But I’m already hearing reports that Belgian authorities took their eye off the ball.  When it’s all said and done, I’m sure it’s going to end up with mistakes being made because it’s not politically correct to single out young Muslim men.

And is anyone still going to complain about Trump’s and Cruz’s position that no Syrian refugee should be allowed into the United States without full documentation?  Do we have to wait until there’s a horrific attack in Germany thanks to Angela Merkel’s decision to allow one million refugees into her country?  Do we really need the 10,000 Syrian refugees Obama wants to allow into the United States without proper identification?  Why aren’t the Muslim countries in the Middle East  —  Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Oman, for example – taking in these refugees?  I find it suspect that undocumented people with such an incredibly different culture would even want to come to a Westernized country.  But that’s just me.

I mention our travels around the world because I’m presently sailing with about 600 other old people on a cruise ship.  In order to enter Australia, everyone had to fill out an entry card and an exit card in addition to turning our passports into the ship’s personnel for inspection by the Australian authorities.  This, in addition to the visa I had to obtain online before we left for Australia which was, supposedly, electronically embedded in our passports.  We’ve had to fill out forms in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore.  I had to arrange for an Indian visa before we left for an 8-hour port visit in Mangalore.  The whole process, including new photos, mailing to a visa service center as well as their fees and Indian consulate fees, totaled over $500.  A visa was physically attached to our passports but we still had to have a face-to-face meeting with Indian authorities, fill out yet another departure and arrival card and obtain an Indian shore pass.  In Hong Kong, if we wanted to go to Macao, we would’ve had to fill out a departure form in Hong Kong, an arrival form in Macao; at the end of our visit, a departure form in Macao, and yet another arrival card in Hong Kong and then, ultimately, an exit card in Hong Kong.

And I’m hearing about visa waivers on the television?  We’re a bunch of old men and women on a cruise ship and we’re not able to obtain visa waivers.  Yet, young Muslim men are able to enter countries without any identification whatsoever.  What am I missing here?

So what is the world going to do about this latest attack?  Is someone – anyone – going to invoke NATO?   Does anyone have a plan?   Are the leaders going to take their heads out of the sand and come up with a strategy to destroy this cancer?    Can we please get our act together and wipe these SOBs off the face of the planet?   Or do I have to read about yet another attack next month?

I don’t get it, but if you do, God bless you.
