Sorry to use that visual, but our President’s continuing refusal to answer questions about what really happened in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11 really does make me sick.  I remember seeing the reports the following day at the airport while waiting for my flight.  As outraged as I was then, I’m even more so weeks later.  Instead of rescheduling an intelligence briefing, President Obama left Washington on 9/12 to attend a fundraiser in Las Vegas and has since appeared on hard-hitting shows like MTV.

Weeks later, President Obama still hasn’t held a press conference and his spin is that “we’re still investigating” and “we’re going to find who did this and bring them to justice.”  Yeah, yeah, yeah.  I’m sure they won’t figure any of this out before the election.  Hell, the Senate, chaired by Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, won’t even hold a hearing until November 15th.  Very convenient.

I, for one, would like to know the exact timeline leading up to this horrific event.  When did the Ambassador know there was trouble;  when did he ask for more security;  was security denied;  who denied additional security;  when the CIA found out about the attack; when did the military know about;  why weren’t military personnel sent to Libya to help;  did the State Department receive requests for help;  why wasn’t help sent;  and on and on and on.

Four Americans are dead and the President still doesn’t know why!  And it’s absolutely outrageous the media is not demanding the answers.  I’m sure if the same situation occurred during a Republican administration, the media would demand heads roll the following day.

Yet, the press remains pretty much silent.  Even Bob Schieffer, the moderator of the third Presidential debate on foreign affairs, didn’t press the President for an answer.

And in case anyone thinks Mitt Romney should’ve hit the President harder for answers, HE’S NOT A JOURNALIST!  It’s not his job.  It’s the job of the media to get straight answers from the President – the same President who campaigned in ’08 that his would be the most transparent administration ever.

Instead of dealing with this issue, the President won’t answer the question who told U.N. Ambassador Rice to go out on tv shows after the attack and tell the world that the killing of our Ambassador and the three other heroes was the result of some dopey video instead of a planned terrorist attack which we now know was the case.

But then again, this is the same President who instructed his Administration not to use the word “terrorism” but rather “man made disasters” early in his Presidency.  Does anyone remember that?

With just a few days left to the election, instead of telling the American people what really happened – seriously, does anyone believe an “investigation” is still going on after over six weeks? – our fearless leader goes on the Jay Leno show, is interviewed by some guy named Sway Calloway from MTV and talks about music, and is treated to a softball interview with Brian Williams, who’s the anchor of the NBC Nightly News, and who accepted the President’s mantra, “we’re still investigating.”  How lame is all that when we don’t have crucial answers to what happened in Libya over a month ago?

As I said, if this was a Republican administration, the media would be all over the story.  But, they’ve got their guy in the White House and they’ll do whatever is necessary – going so far as not reporting an incredibly important story – to keep him there.

Unfortunately, I get the media.   They really are lame.
