I guess we have to start out with the premise that you’re probably dumb if you’ve ended up in jail.  So it shouldn’t surprise me when I read about really dumb lawsuits filed by some inmates.

If you’ve read anything I’ve written about prisons, you’ll know that I don’t get why prisoners get for free what we have to pay for in our own law-abiding lives — food, clothing, cable, computers, gym memberships or any of the other amenities enjoyed by our imprisoned citizens.

So, when I recently read that the dumb convicted bank robber, Kyle Richards, is suing the prison authorities because of its “no-porn policy,” all I could do was shake my head.  This genius, who some doctor has diagnosed as having “chronic masturbation syndrome,” thinks the denial of porn is a violation of his Eighth Amendment of the Constitution.

“In a five-page handwritten document, Richards petitions a judge to override prison policy and allow inmates to possess erotic and pornographic materials along with personal televisions, video game consoles, and radios. The suit, which names the state of Michigan and Governor Rick Snyder as defendants, claims that the refusal to grant his request for erotic material subjects him to a ‘poor standard of living’ and ‘sexual and sensory deprivation.'”

Need I say more?
