What do you get when you have an American drug dealer impersonating an illegal immigrant who’s deported and re-enters the U.S. with his legitimate passport – major dumb!

In 2010, twenty-seven year old, Jaime Alvarado, was arrested for drug dealing and pled guilty to possession of cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute.  Instead of facing a sentence of up to 15 years, he decided to tell the judge, not once but twice, that he was an illegal immigrant.  The system decided to deport him rather than sending him to an already overcrowded prison system.

Well, the plan sounded like a good one but when he returned to the U.S. a month later using his American passport, he was arrested again.  He told the judge he was was an American citizen and lied about his identity the year before and asked for leniency.  The judge turned the case over to the immigration authorities to confirm that he was an American.  After it was confirmed, immigration released him in June.

Prosecutors want his prison sentence reinstated but Alvarado is no where to be found.  A warrant was issued on October 31st for his arrest for lying to authorities last year.
