Well, my favorite black hole of government waste, the National Institutes of Health, is at it again.
Our federal government helped fund a study that examined what effect a gay man’s penis size has on his sex life and general well-being. I won’t get into the specific findings, but if anyone is interested, you can read about it here.
If that isn’t disturbing enough, the report said that it was difficult to trace exactly how much federal funding went to this particular project, but that it was one of many linked to an $899,769 grant in 2006.
Isn’t that just like government? It funds a study and can’t trace exactly how much money was spent on it.
By the way, 83% of the men approached agreed to participate in the survey. As an incentive for completing the survey, each man was given a voucher for free admission to a movie. The whole thing makes me nuts so I won’t suggest that the movies available were “thr3e,” “Four,” “The Five,” “Six,” Se7en,” “8 1/2,” 9 1/2 Weeks”….
