I couldn’t help but laugh when I read a piece in the WSJ today about Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan health care system. I’m not laughing because Mr. Chavez has cancer, but the fact that he’s seeking treatment for it in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
He expects his countrymen to accept the below-par health care available, but he chooses to go elsewhere.
I’m not sure if Mr. Chavez is welcome in this country, but I am surprised that Chavez groupies, Sean Penn and Danny Glover, haven’t intervened on his behalf to allow him to get medical treatment here. But knowing those two bozos, I wouldn’t be surprised if they thought South American health care is superior to America’s.
