THE COARSENING OF AMERICA

Ever since the Tucson shootings, we’ve heard about civility ad nauseum. Everyone has been calling for civility including the President at the memorial service in Tucson and during his State of the Union address. We heard a lot about civility after 9/11 as well. People were kinder to each other – more polite, more […]

Good Choice?

Link: Good Choice? In what world does this 19-year old live in that she thinks taking off her clothes for Playboy is a “good choice?”

TOO MUCH TIME, TOO MUCH MONEY

I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t use that expression.  I either read about or see someone who just has too much time on his hands, or has too much money, and gets into some sort of trouble.  I see it in people in all walks of life but Hollywood seems to […]

GOVERNMENT AT WORK – AIN’T IT GRAND?

I’ve said it a million times.  If you love the way government runs the DMV, post office, SEC in dealing with Bernie Madoff, Fannie & Freddie Mac, education, the BP oil spill, TSA and Hurricane Katrina, you’re gonna love Obamacare.  We’ve already experienced government’s track record and we haven’t even scratched the surface of the […]

Al Sharpton’s Tax Debt

Public records show Al Sharpton owes a total of $3.7 million in city, state and federal taxes, including penalties, dating to 2002.   But Sharpton’s spokeswoman, Rachel Noerdlinger, said that he had paid back “well over seven figures” as part of agreements with the state and IRS and that the liens remained on the books as […]

On Monday, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez signed executive order 2011-009  that requires police officers to check a criminal’s immigration status. This could be a first salvo in her attempt to mimic Arizona’s “show-me-your-papers” law. Will the left now call Latina Governor Susana Martinez “racist?”

SOME REALLY BONEHEADED PEOPLE!

I miss those days of innocent reality tv shows like Love Connection when the worst you saw were two contestants sheepishly admitting having sex with one another on their first date.  At least back then, they and the host, Chuck Woolery, feigned embarrassment.  Now, you have the Jerry Springer/Maury Povich crowd who readily admit to […]

LORENA BOBBITT REVISITED

I’m not at all familiar with CNN’s correspondent, Alina Cho.  I know she wasn’t all too happy with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown’s op/ed piece he wrote back in 2008 about the rise of Sarah Palin.  Other than that, I haven’t paid any attention to her…until a few weeks ago. She recently interviewed Lorena […]
