I did not vote for President Obama.  Some might call me a racist, but I voted against him based on the issues.  A 5-minute google search and his interview with Bill O’Reilly revealed to me that he was a far-left guy and told me everything I needed to know about him. 

He said he was in favor of a one-payer healthcare system.  According to him, it wouldn’t happen right away, but first “we need to take back the White House.”  (Translation:  BIG government.)  He also said he believed in redistribution of wealth.  (Translation:  HIGHER taxes.)  He also supported the Freedom of Choice Act.  (Translation:  UNFETTERED abortions.)  All no-no’s in this conservative’s way of thinking. 

But, when November 4, 2008, rolled around and he won, he became my President.  I remember getting emails from some distraught friends of mine and I simply told them, “this too will pass.”  So, I installed a countdown clock on my computer and each day I see the years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds ticking down until Election Day 2012.  What more can I do?  For now, Barack Obama is my President. 

From the President’s actions, you’d think someone forgot to tell him he won and that he is the President of all the United States and all the citizens of this country.  Can someone please also remind the President that currently the Democrats hold majorities in both the Senate and the House and that he doesn’t need one Republican to pass any of his far-left agenda.  (I’m praying, of course, that all that changes in a couple of weeks.)  So what’s he complaining about and why is he always crying about the Republicans? 

Every time I turn around, the President is either campaigning, complaining or on vacation. 

Months after Obamacare was signed, he’s still on the campaign trail pushing health reform.  He’s now trying to explain to the American public what a great program he created.  With 55% of likely voters in favor of repealing the bill and with elections just around the corner, he’s trying to sell the American public on Obamacare and convince them the Democrats who passed this mess shouldn’t get booted out of office. 

What I don’t get is that he forgets he represents all Americans.  There are always going to be those who adore him and those who loathe him and those in between that just don’t get what he’s doing.  Unfortunately, the President has the thinnest skin of any President in my lifetime.  We saw some real defensiveness in President Clinton during an interview with Peter Jennings when questioned about his moral authority, but nothing compares to President Obama’s oversensitivity to criticism. 

The President chides the Republicans for just about everything.  For the second time, can someone please tell this man he doesn’t need one Republican vote so why does he care if they oppose anything he does?  He doesn’t need them!  If it’s not their rhetoric on healthcare, it’s on corporate campaign cash.   If he’s not criticizing the GOP for its opposition to his stimulus package, he’s criticizing its “Pledge to America.”    

Besides being very thin-skinned, President Obama doesn’t have much of a memory either.  During his inaugural address, he directed his comments to a world-wide audience when he said, “To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.”  Well, isn’t that exactly what he’s doing today – silencing dissent?

In May, he wasn’t too crazy about a heckler in the audience who was pushing for repeal of the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.  In response, the President said, “C’mon, man, I’m dealing with Congress here, it takes a little bit of time.”  (Do I need to repeat myself for the third time about Congress?) 

What I find far more disturbing is his criticism and mocking of the Tea Party Movement.  I’m a conservative and identify very strongly with the Movement’s commitment to the Constitution.   I think the President sounds very un-Presidential when he so disrespectfully diminishes me and those who oppose his big government-big tax agenda with more to come if he has his way.  

What is also frightening is the President’s ranting about Fox News.  In his recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he said, “Fox News promoted a point of view that was ‘destructive’ to the growth of the United States.”  Keep in mind Politico’s latest poll showing that 42% of respondents say Fox News is their main source of cable news, compared with 30% for CNN and 12% for MSNBC.  Not surprising, 49% of respondents believed Bill O’Reilly had a positive impact on political debate in this country. 

The fact that 90% of all media are in love with President Obama isn’t enough for this guy.  I’ve watched all the cable news shows and not one presents all sides of a story on a regular basis, except for Fox and, particularly, its hard news shows like Special Report with Bret Baier.  I see far more liberals on Fox News, than conservatives on CNN or MSNBC.  I’m sure you’ve all read Bernie’s columns and books and he’s the expert on the lamestream media’s “Bias,” and “Arrogance” and its “Slobbering Love Affair” with President Obama.  Every time the President tries to minimize the impact of Fox News, its viewership rises.

Now there’s the attack on pro-lifers by the Obama Administration.  The FBI and the DOJ have teamed up with Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Federal and the Feminist Majority Foundation for a training seminar whose focus is to declare as “violent” the free speech activities of pro-life Americans – activities such as praying and peaceful protesting. 

He’s now condemning the U.S. Chamber of Commerce which represents the interests of more than three million businesses.     

Finally, I was appalled when he criticized the Supreme Court during his State of the Union address in January when he attacked, “with all due deference to separation of powers,” its decision regarding campaign spending.  That was truly insulting and un-Presidential.  Kudos to Justice Samuel Alito who’s announced he won’t be attending the 2011 State of the Union address.    

For someone who was supposed to be the great unifier, he’s managed to alienate just about everyone but his extreme far-left base.  If he intends to win back the independent vote, he’s in for a big surprise. 

If my father were alive, he’d say to the President, “stop your bellyaching, you won!”  Enough said.
